Spark Academy is a co-ed, residential treatment program for adolescents, specializing in neurodiversity. Our philosophy is first treating the trauma from a life with high-functioning Autism, paving the way for increased self-regulation and competency! We also provide a full continuum of care with three, distinct residential settings, where we can laser focus on individual students, helping their unique treatment progression be more manageable and precise!

We currently seek to hire a dynamic Therapist! This full-time position requires passion and vision! The incumbent will proactively seek the best therapeutic tools from a neurological and trauma lens, for each student to have physical, social, and emotional wellbeing. We have a mindset that treatment needs to be innovative for neurodiversity! We look for a candidate who can be on board to join us in pioneering modalities of care!

Skills
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Practiced familiarity and understanding of neurodiversity, with familiarity of proven clinical theories and applications for trauma treatment, polyvagal theory, executive functioning deficits, learning and processing differences, distress tolerance, rigid thinking and mood disorders.
- A well-rounded understanding of the DSM.
- Management and teaching skills to lead Treatment Team meetings effectively.
- Excellence in flexibility and adaptability to handle “curve balls” in treatment.
- Good computer skills, with ability to learn and utilize the company’s internal technical tools.
- A learning mindset, always seeking to improve and develop.


Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as Primary Therapist for assigned caseload of up to 8 students.
- Provide intense assessment and specific treatment planning in collaboration with parents, students, and Treatment Team – taking ownership of the Master Treatment Plans to lay out goals and objectives.
- Provide 1 hour of individual therapy and 1 hour of family therapy weekly for each student and provide crisis intervention, as needed.
- Plan and conduct group therapy twice weekly.
- Lead weekly Treatment Team meetings to plan and coordinate the therapeutic needs and goals/objectives of each student on caseload, and ensure these plans are being followed as indicated.
- Effectively communicate with parents/guardians and associated professionals in a timely and situation-based manner – keeping them informed of significant events or changes. Assist parents and other family members to become involved in their child’s treatment and care in Spark Academy.

Notes
Qualifications:
- Completed Master's Degree in a mental health field (i.e., Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, etc.).
- Completed Utah license (LCSW, CMHC, MFT, etc.).
If the right match, we may consider a candidate has an associate’s license, working towards full licensure (CSW, ACMHC, AMFT).
- Previous therapy experience with the adolescent population and families highly desired.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older to apply.
- Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.
