We are known for providing the highest quality individualized care for our patients and our team of highly skilled physical therapists who are passionate about helping patients achieve their goals.  

Currently, we are in search of a part-time Speech Language Pathologist located in Oxnard, CA.

Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. Responsibilities for Speech Language Pathologist include, but are not limited to:
Work with a diversity of patient populations including pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in an outpatient setting, with willingness to provide in-home or school based services on an as need basis
Prepare engaging exercises and activities to use during speech sessions with patients
Provide counseling and consultations for new patients
Create goals and objectives for patients to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges
As appropriate, oversee speech-language pathologist assistants and support their full-scope understanding of how to manage a patient
Prepare speech pathology equipment and exam room ensuring proper sterilization and safety procedures are followed
Review the patient's electronic file prior to their appointment and have a clear understanding of the challenge to be addressed
Attend continuing education courses and work to advance personal knowledge and experience within the field
Request and organize written authorization from patients involving specific follow up instructions and goals for improvement

Skills
Qualifications for Speech Language Pathologist
OR SLP or SLPA license (RPE temporary license if SLP CF) & Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology, if for CCC-SLP position (i.e. not required if SLPA or SLP CF).
Proficiency in computer use, as required for electronic medical records
Master's degree in speech-language pathology is required for CCC-SLP and SLP CF applicants
Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to HIPAA legislation and other patient privacy laws
Experience working with sensitive and personal patient records and information
Proficient in troubleshooting common software and hardware challenges in relation to the regular use of speech pathology tools
Physical endurance and the ability to work primarily in a standing position
A friendly and professional demeanor is required when explaining procedures and processes to patients
Accountability and attention to detail is essential when handling and documenting important medical information
