Adelphi is seeking to recruit an Occupational Therapist (OT) for a full time role in a school in California. The candidate should have 3 years’ experience in providing occupational therapy services to students who have low incidence or multiple disabilities.Job Quick Facts: • Ref #: BD-596-01 • Profession: Allied Health • Specialty: Occupational Therapist (OT) • Location: Fremont, California • Job Type: Contract • Facility type: School • Start Date: September 1, 2024 • Schedule: 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday • Rate: $55/hr Requirements: • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution • California Board of Occupational Therapy License • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy • Have experience and knowledge on unique learning needs of students who have visual impairments, including students who have additional disabilities. • 2 to 5 hours per week will be set aside for classroom consultation for students who receive therapy and for those students who in the future may require therapy. Responsibilities: • Provide in-person OT assessment, direct OT services, and OT consultation for students. • Provide consultation & direct services to students who have difficulties with fine motor skills, personal care, eating & sensory motor skills, as specified in each student’s IEP. • Assess students with suspected fine motor, self-help or sensory processing difficulties to determine if OT services are warranted and recommend the type of service and individualized goals for service to be added to the students’ IEPs. • Provide the assessment, consultation, or direct OT for students who have OT assessment or OT on their IEP. • Provide the necessary equipment and materials needed (for example, weighted vests, adapted utensils, therapy putty, etc. • Write reports and design a service delivery plan for each student requiring services. • Develop a therapy plan for each student. • Provide quarterly progress reports on each student progress using online IEP management system, SELPA Information Records and Analysis Support (SIRAS) System. • Evaluate and record progress for use in billing, reporting, and assessment. • Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as necessary
