Are you a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant looking for a new adventure? We are seeking a passionate and patient-centered PTA to join our team. You will be able to work with our world renowned medical team and a help a variety of patients in the an acute care setting. If you are a licensed PTA we would love to hear from you!

 

  • Days: 0800-1700
  • Weekend rotation (once every six weeks Saturday and Sunday) usually one holiday a year.
  • preference a year of experience in a hospital (but not required)
  • Home base Barnes-St. Peters and train at Progress West.

Overview

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital proudly serves the health care needs of families in St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren counties. The 102-bed community hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, the Breast Health and Women’s Center, the Cardiology Center, the Neurosurgery Center and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center.

 

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and carries a Level II stroke certification. Additionally, the hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, dermatology, surgery and pulmonology. Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital also offers outpatient services including physical therapy, a sleep lab, and cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation.

 

 

At Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, every decision is made in the best interest of patients and families. The Therapy Departments provide inpatient services including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology.


Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Provides skilled treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by a licensed physical therapist as specified in their health care service setting.

 

Responsibilities

  • Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed physical therapist.
  • Collaborates with the licensed physical therapist on an agreed upon frequency to assess and reassess patient’s plan of care, treatment goals and interventions.
  • Documents patient progress in daily notes and weekly notes (as applicable), as well as contributes recommendations to patient’s discharge note from physical therapy.
  • Assists with guidance for clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the physical therapist.
  • Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.
